Suffering from acne can be a difficult and can impact your confidence. If you’re having trouble getting your acne under control, don’t fret, we’ve put together some tips to help you understand what may be causing your acne, some dos and don’ts of at home treatments, as well as a suggested acne prone skincare routine to help you on your way to enjoying the clear skin you dream of!

What To Be Aware Of

Unfortunately, acne isn’t just an issue teenagers deal with. It can be caused by hereditary factors, your menstrual cycle, pregnancy, your diet, and skincare routine. There are two types of skin impurities, noninflammatory blemishes like blackheads and whiteheads and inflammatory like red pimples and cysts. Acne is typically more associated with inflammatory blemishes which could be caused by your skin producing too much oil, dead skin cells accumulating in your pores or bacteria build up.

Do’s and Don’ts of at Home Treatments

When it comes to acne, a gentle approach is best. Firstly, we know that it can be tempting, but it’s important to avoid picking or popping any pimples. If you do, they can take longer to heal, and you can also accidentally spread the sebum on other areas of your face and body. Another important tip is to be gentle while washing your face, try not to be harsh or use products that are too harsh, particularly if you have sensitive skin.

A great way to prevent acne as much as possible is to wash your hair more often, particularly focusing on your hairline, as well as regularly washing your makeup brushes and your pillowcase. Keeping everything that your skin comes into contact with as clean as possible is recommended. If you do wear makeup, use noncomedogenic products as they are less likely to clog your pores.

  1. Wet your face
  2. Apply your desired amount of cleanser and water to the brush head of your Aura Polish 2.0. We recommend using a cleanser for acne prone skin that contains ingredients like salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide or retinoids.
  3. Turn the device on and choose either the normal cleansing mode or deep cleansing mode. You may choose to use the normal cleansing mode in the morning and deep cleansing mode in the evening if you’ve worn makeup.
  4. Rub the brush head on your palm with circular motions until it foams.
  5. Glide the brush head gently over your face to make sure you cleanse all areas.
